Dr. Satera Papageorgiou
BDS(Adel), Post Grad Dip (Dental Implantology)
Dr Satera Papageorgiou is the Practice Principal at Mawson Lakes Dental, and has been practicing in the Mawson Lakes and Para Hills area for 28 years. During this time, she established the McIntyre Dental Clinic, and Greenwith Dental. Mawson Lakes Dental is her current dental practice, along with Copper Coast Dental in Kadina, regional South Australia, 150km north of Adelaide that provides care to York Peninsula Patients.
Dr Papageorgiou has recently completed her Post Graduate Diploma of Implantology and is available to place implants and implant crowns.
Her areas of interests are:
- Replacing missing teeth with Dental Implants,
- Teeth Straightening using Invisalign and Cfast
- Using Botulism Toxin (BOTOX™)
- to treat headaches associated with Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ Syndrome)
- to provide facial improvements particularly “gummy smiles” as an adjunct to Cosmetic Dentistry.
Dr Papageorgiou is married with 3 children and has a strong philosophical approach to all aspects of dentistry. She is holistic in her approach and believes in treating all members of the community as equals when it comes to their dental needs. Equally she enjoys looking after families and seeing her patients and their families return year after year.
Dr Tafadzwa (Taf) Mabheju
Taf completed her studies in 2011 and has been a part of the practice since February 2014 having just moved to Adelaide with her husband. Taf is a gentle and compassionate dentist who strives to provide excellent dental care in the most comfortable manner possible for each patient. She is keen to expand her knowledge by keeping abreast with advancement in dentistry and has recently enrolled with the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons to further develop herself professionally.
Taf has a special interest in;
- Intravenous Sedations to cater for Anxious Patients
- Cosmetic Dentistry,
- Tooth Coloured Porcelain Fillings using CEREC ,
- Porcelain and Resin Veneers.
Dr. Emilija Ports
Dr Emilija Ports graduated from the University of Adelaide with First Class Honours and has joined the practice after spending a few years living and working on the North West coast of Tasmania. She works with a wide range of patients including those who are anxious about dental treatment.
Emilija is gentle and caring and endeavours to explain procedures to help patients understand all possible options and to ensure they have a clear understanding of what needs to be done. She is also a clinical tutor at the University of Adelaide and keeps up to date with continuing professional development.
Oral Health Therapist BOH(Adel), GCertOHSc
Eddie is our Dental Therapist and has been with our practice since the start of 2007. Eddie graduated from his Bachelor of Oral Health (BOH) from the University of Adelaide in 2006. In his final year of study, Eddie received a scholarship from the University of Adelaide to attend and present at the World Oral Health Week Seminars held at the INHolland University in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2016 Eddie completed post graduate studies and gained a Graduate Certificate in Oral Health Science. This extends his scope of practice to enable him to perform dental examinations and simple restorations for patients of any age.
Eddie is dedicated to maintaining the oral health of children, teenagers and young adults. In particular, Eddie deals with many anxious patients and endeavours to create a relaxing and safe environment where his patients can feel at ease. He works closely with the dentists to ensure a complete and holistic approach to oral health.
Eddie has a special interest in;
- Single Visit Tooth Whitening using the SMARTBleach system.
- Children’s Dentistry,
- Sports Mouth Guards
Jenny has worked in dentistry for over twenty years, joining Mawson Lakes Dental 10 years ago. Previously she worked for seven years as a Dental Therapist in the School Dental Service, then as a Hygienist in a general practice and also in an orthodontic practice.
She enjoys caring for the dental needs of her clients and helping people to improve their oral hygiene in order to prevent dental disease. She offers a personalised gentle care program to all, but especially to people who are nervous or anxious about treatment. Her aim is to provide her patients with information and treatment to help prevent gum disease and decay.
